Brain candy

I have spent a good portion of the week reading what I would call "brain candy"in between the already insurmountable tasks I am supposed to be accomplishing throughout the day.

( As a side note, though I have managed to cross several key items off my to do list this week as well so I haven't been a complete sloth. I've cleaned the bathrooms, made 2 loaves of banana bread, cleaned the garbage, recycling bins and area under the sink, cleaned, swept and mopped the front foyer, mopped the kitchen floor and I'm in the process of mending the toy bins Emma ripped even though I can't sew, and have to stitch them all by hand, and I can now say I have taken care of twin girls as well as 5 other children in one day and survived. I changed 23 diapers yesterday!!!!)

Though it almost hurts me to admit this the latest selection or literature has been borderline corny, Christian romance books about cowboy ranchers, trail drivers, etc etc..  Brain candy because they are easy reads, no challenge what so ever. The feed a ridiculously unrealistic fantasy world.  But it's reading for pleasure and escape so... I'm allowing myself this guilty pleasure.  I'll go back to Jane Austen when I want to give my brain a bit more of a workout.
This latest one though....  a game hunter making a living in Rockies with a rough exterior and slightly tortured by something in his past with a southern drawl and gentlemanly manner courtesy of his upbringing in Tennessee meets with beautiful, outspoken and headstrong photo-journalist from the North struggling with a potentially terminal illness.   Come on! Are you kidding me?  How is my inner sap supposed to resist that??????
It will take a large degree of willpower to get anything accomplished today.
